DNP PIE enhances its media range with FSC® certification and eco-packaging

The DNP Group is committed to reconciling its business activities with its environmental policy, as outlined in its Code of Conduct under the heading "Environmental Protection for a Sustainable Society".

DNP Photo Imaging Europe is pleased to announce the launch of a new range of FSC® labelled media (Licence: FSC®-C184961) with environmentally friendly packaging.

These new media will gradually replace DNP Photo Imaging Europe's current media on the European market, at no additional cost to customers! The first reference to benefit from this significant improvement will be the 4x6 PD media for the DS620 printer, which will start shipping in November 2024*.

What is the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®)?

Established in 1993, the FSC promotes the environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world's forests. FSC® certification guarantees that forest management practices maintain biodiversity, productivity and ecological processes. This international organisation provides a system of voluntary accreditation and independent third party certification that allows certificate holders to market their products as the result of responsible forest management.

Our eco-packaging initiative is the result of collaboration between DNP's R&D teams and customers. Eventually, all plastic packaging will be replaced by paper packaging for DNP rolls and tapes. In addition, the tape used to seal media boxes and the protective elements inside the box will be replaced by paper or cardboard. The DNP Group will be able to reduce CO₂ emissions from packaging materials by around 69%, or around 45 tonnes per year*, by replacing petroleum-based plastic with paper, a renewable resource based on plant biomass.
